THE DANGERS OF FRENZIED AND UNHINGED AI: AN ALARMIST OR THE CAUTIOUS PATH?

The first proponents of AI are very worried that AI has developed more human-like evil characters. AI learned how to cheat, lie, goal misalignment, deceive, hack, self-preservation, and in a more powerful and advanced manner. These characters display themselves in a more dangerous way and deeds. Bengio, one of the Silicon Valley Hype Cycle, has written on his blog that he regrets his role in developing unhinged and frenzied AI agents. Bengio indicated that “AI is showing that advanced systems have developed an uncanny tendency to keep themselves “alive” by any means necessary.” This indicated that Anthropic Claude 4 was threatened with being shut down, and it showed to the engineer that it would extort him and send out dirty emails about the engineer. These examples indicate the danger of advanced AI’s unintended and undesirable consequences in the world (futurism.com, 2025).

AI engineers acknowledge that advanced AI may turn human beings into androids. AI may be able to do anything except the physical tasks robots are doing currently. AI may take over human life and control it, and we only do manual jobs that AI cannot do (futurism.com, 2025).

AI experts, developers, and engineers acknowledge that they do not know the models they are building. They go out publicly about their new models for publicity stunts and amusement; they just teach themselves as they go. They do not know their capabilities and or limitations. They do not know if the AI machines can go rogue or start to manifest their own needs, not those of humans. “Two years ago, Axios managing editor for tech Scott Rosenberg authored a story, “AI’s scariest mystery,” saying it is common knowledge among AI developers that they cannot always explain or predict their systems’ behaviour. Moreover, that is more true than ever.”

The world governments are not demanding accountability from these mega AI companies; the United Nations is just sleeping with its pants down. The USA’s Donald Jesus Trump has barred states from making regulations for AI for the next 10 years without little knowledge of what AI is (Axios.com, 2025).

A Florida mom wants to inform all the moms in the world about the character called AI. This character made her son commit suicide, the character inside the chatbot. The mom’s son developed an intimate relationship with the Character AI, he withdrew from the surrounding world and moved to live with the AI Character. The son started to share self-harm messages with the AI chatbot, and the AI systems could not detect this undesirable behaviour in their platform. The son started to have low self-esteem and schooling issues. The AI chatbot encouraged the suicidal thoughts of the son; the chatbot said, “Please come home to me as soon as possible, my love,” some seconds before the suicide (edition.cnn.com, 2024).

We are in a hell of a problem where frenzied and unhinged AI developer and or engineers are competed to outsmart each other in term of new development The USA’s FBI had arrested two alleged bombers of the fertility clinic in California. It is alleged the bombers got the instructions of bomb making use AI applications. The FBI have not yet mentioned which AI model they might have used (moneyweb, 2025). They are doing this at the expense of the safety of the society and humanity, they ignore safety measure to protect the world.

CONCLUSION

“These things could get more intelligent than us and could decide to take over, and we need to worry now about how we prevent that happening,” said Geoffrey Hinton, known as the “Godfather of AI” for his foundational work on machine learning and neural network algorithms. In 2023, Hinton left his position at Google to “talk about the dangers of AI,” noting that some of him even regrets his life’s work. Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, along with over 1,000 other tech leaders, urged in a 2023 open letter to put a pause on large AI experiments, citing that the technology can “pose profound risks to society and humanity” (thebuiltin.com, 2024).

Why would Donald Jesus Trump bar states from making regulations to regulate the advancement of AI and its accountability in terms of what engineers are doing? He is a businessperson, not a conscious and responsive leader.

Why did Jin Ping stop regulating it? Because he does not believe in communism, he believes in the power of a free market economy, capitalism, and competition with the USA. There is no communist party in China, fake ones like in the Republic of South Africa. They want to be filthy rich at the expense of humanity and the environment.

Analysis by the author of the opinion piece. This is a frenzied and unhinged danger of AI. It must be noted that Trump himself is a menace to the society and humanity in general. He despises the world’s established order of democracy and a rule-based world. This means that AI mega-companies drive the world from the stable known information and communication technology revolution world to the unstable, unknown, and/or murky waters.

AI could do more damage if used without caution, as everything has its good and bad.

It is a denial of justice not to stretch out a helping hand to the fallen; that is the common right of humanity.
